Jewish Education

As the Gay community in Jerusalem was getting ready for the big day, every evening for more than a week before the gay Pride Parade, hundreds and sometimes thousends of kids and teenagers in the Jewish orthodox parts of jerusalem felt hurt and feared that if the Gay Pride Parade will happen god will bring another war on Israel and an earthqwake and god knows what other punishments he can think of. They all were called to fight to save the world from the evil forces in the other side of the street. The call came from the Rabbies, the spiritual leaders of the community through street signs and street speaches. When the boys got out to the street and burned trash in order to make their voice heard as clear as it can be in the bad ears of the supreem court of the state of Israel. When the boys were told to go home by the police , they responded by throwing stones, glass bottles and in few cases even oil and other chimicals.

It is known in Isreal that teenagers and young people are capable of making big changes and in the world. By lew every boy and girl at the age of 18 join the army and give their time, body and soul to the state foe 3 years. In the Haredi (Ultra Orthodox) sociaty in Israel the boy don't join the army like their brother jews from other classes of sociaty, the also are being thaught to hurt the state institutes when ever they feel that their close culture is going to be exposed to other ways of life. If a car will accidently drive through that street on Shabbat it is ok for the kids to stone it and hurt the people in it.

In this blog I bring my own thaoughts about the world, to me it seems very wrong that a small group in a democratic sociaty is choosing to live by a different set of rules and ignoring the balance between the rest of the people, especially in a state that make "Jewish" to be it's basic value. The Jewish democratic state cannot live by the rules of the tora as they are.
I say this after having a conversation with some of the boys in the street. They were convinced completly that they are doing all that need and can be done to save Israel from the evil that want to march in the streets.
Now as I process what I have seen and heard I try to understand who gains from keeping this community poor ,ignorant and controlled.

Laundry Qween

On friday, Nov. 10th I was walking to the Gay Parade in Jerusalem and I have met the lady in the pictures, it seems like for her there is nothing more important and the Israeli democracy can wait and who are the proud people who needs to protest ? it friday after noon and there is a lot of work to do before shabbat.
Our eyes crossed when she was trying to hang her wet laundry on a system of wires that looked
like a giant spider web in her front yard that was about 6 steps lower than the street.
The qween wanted to use the metal bar that was on the wall between her and the street to hang more cloths as the spider web was full, and that's when she asked me to help her to reach the bar from the street and hang some shirts on it.

I did what she asked and then she asked for just a little thing "if you can help me with the blanket I will be like a qween" she said, and how could I refuse that... so I followed her to the back yard and waited as she hand washed the blankets and then I carried them out to the street and put them neetly on the metal bar to dry in the sun. I also asked what kind of detergant she was using ? "Bio is the best."

Then I said Shabbat shalom and went back to my world, to help the gay community save it.
